I am sitting here in awe at God’s extravagant love! Today I woke with great apprehension over some impending things. And yet as the day has unfolded I know I have had a front row seat yet again to the extravagant love of my God. He knows our fears, the cause of our tears and what sees our knees knocking…but doesn’t just leave it at that, He tends as only He can.
To me this year feels like one where God is cleaning out the cob webs and establishing new beginnings. That process is not overly comfortable but oh so worthwhile. In March something happened that felt like old wounds that were almost a scar were pulled back and dug into. Leaving me grappling yet again around the same old things.
Adding to that a month back I was asked to speak at a women’s event this coming Monday, and because of God’s gentle ways with me I knew something was coming and my answer was to be yes. Yet as I sat prepping for it I struggled to feel equipped and positioned to speak on such truth, to share a testimony that felt on shaky ground.
But then God goes ahead and just unfolds something to leave you in awe of His extravagant love. Reminding you that the path He has had you walk is indeed behind, that the path that is ahead is indeed yours to step into. For there is nothing satan can do to rob you of all that God has done, and all that God is doing. And there is no clearing of cob webs that negates all that has been accomplished at the tender, purposeful, faithful, able hand of God.
Isaiah 43:18-19 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wastelands.
This verse is a beautiful truth we have in God…for He alone tends and mends, grows and establishes. Sometimes we can lose our footing, and need to be brought back around to that reality. Other times something in life knocks us off our feet and we need to grapple through to the other side. But in all that God is there! He is loving, and extravagantly so.
Do you see God’s fingerprints for you in today? Are you confident that His love for you is deep, extravagant and all encompassing? And do you know that He is able to do immeasurably more than you can hope or imagine as you bring the broken gunk, placing it in His hands and looking to see what He will do in it’s place? How I pray you do!
If you are around the area and want to hear an ordinary girl speak of her extraordinary God on Monday 23rd July 2018 then feel free to rock up to Northcross Community Church in Oteha Valley at 7pm for a cuppa, listen and chat. It’s about labels yet God’s counter as our identity as His girl’s! We will unpack some scripture that grounds us to that reality and hear portions of roads walked.
